Michael Okafor is a dual-qualified immigration lawyer admitted to the Law Society of Ontario (LSO) and the New York State Bar. He holds an LLB from the University of Lagos and an LLM in International Human Rights Law from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University. For fifteen years Michael has practised immigration law across both the Canadian and US systems, with a particular focus on economic immigration pathways including Express Entry, the Provincial Nominee Programs, and the US EB-1 extraordinary ability and EB-2 NIW petitions. He is also deeply experienced in family class immigration, spousal sponsorship, and asylum claims — having represented clients before the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada and the US Immigration Court. Michael's firm, Okafor Immigration Law, has offices in Toronto and New York and serves clients globally, with particular strength in representing Nigerian, Ghanaian, and Kenyan nationals who face unique documentation challenges. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association's Immigration Law Section and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and has been recognised as a Leading Lawyer in immigration by the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory.
