Global Settlers ("we", "us", "our") operates the Global Settlers platform at globalsettlers.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our services.

• Account information: name and email address when you register
• Immigration profile: nationality, age, education, work experience, language scores, financial information, and family ties — used to generate pathway recommendations
• Application data: form inputs and documents you upload when using the Application Builder
• Chat messages: questions and responses in the AI Assistant

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: pages visited, features used, and time spent on the platform
• Device information: browser type, operating system, and IP address
• Cookies: session cookies for authentication and a guest token for unauthenticated users

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Generate personalised immigration pathway scores and recommendations
• Provide the AI Assistant with context about your immigration situation
• Save your profile and application progress
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, subscription receipts)
• Improve the accuracy of our scoring models
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your immigration profile data for advertising purposes.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share your data only with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf:

• Supabase — database and authentication hosting
• Anthropic — AI responses (chat messages are sent to the Claude API)
• Stripe — payment processing (we never store card details)
• Resend — transactional email delivery
• Vercel — platform hosting and edge infrastructure

All providers are bound by data processing agreements and may not use your data for their own purposes.

5. Sensitive Immigration Data

Your immigration profile contains sensitive personal information — including nationality, financial details, and family status. We treat this data with the highest level of care:

• All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
• Access is restricted by row-level security — only you can access your own data
• Profile data is used only to generate your pathway recommendations and is never shared with immigration authorities

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Object to or restrict certain processing

8. Cookies

We use the following cookies:

• Authentication cookies — set by Supabase to maintain your logged-in session
• Guest token cookie — a random identifier stored for unauthenticated users to save profile progress; contains no personal information

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If you use Plausible Analytics, it is a privacy-first, cookieless analytics tool that collects no personal data.

9. Children's Privacy

Global Settlers is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify registered users of significant changes by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
