Missing any of these disqualifies an application outright — confirm them before investing in fees or document preparation.
Must score at least 67 out of 100 on the six-factor Federal Skilled Worker selection grid (education, language, experience, age, arranged employment, adaptability).
At least one year of continuous, paid, full-time (or equivalent part-time) work experience in a single NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation within the past 10 years.
Must meet Canadian Language Benchmark 7 in speaking, listening, reading, and writing through an approved test (IELTS General/Academic, CELPIP, TEF Canada, TCF Canada).
Not strictly required, but each strengthens your case — the weight shown reflects how heavily our scoring engine (and in practice, adjudicators) value it.
Must have a Canadian degree or a foreign credential assessed as equivalent to a Canadian bachelor's degree or higher by a designated organization.
Must show sufficient funds to support yourself and family members upon arrival in Canada (unless you have a valid Canadian job offer). Amounts are updated annually.
Valid Passport
Current valid passport for all family members included in the application.
Language Test Results
Official results from an approved language test (IELTS, CELPIP, TEF, or TCF) taken within the last 2 years.
Educational Credential Assessment (ECA)
Official ECA report from a designated organization for any foreign educational credentials.
Employment Reference Letters
Letters from previous employers on company letterhead confirming job title, duties, salary, and dates of employment.
Police Certificate
Police clearance certificate from every country where you have lived for 6+ months since age 18.
Immigration Medical Exam Results
Results from the Immigration Medical Exam (IME) conducted by an IRCC-designated panel physician.
Proof of Settlement Funds
Bank statements or official letters showing you have sufficient funds to settle in Canada. Not required if you have a valid Canadian job offer.
Digital Photograph
Recent passport-style digital photo for each applicant meeting IRCC specifications.
