Define your proposed endeavor and map it to the three Dhanasar prongs. Write a compelling narrative connecting your background, achievements, and the national significance of your work.
Compile evidence supporting all three Dhanasar prongs: degree certificates, publications, citation records, awards, recommendation letters, media coverage, and documentation of your proposed endeavor.
File the I-140 with USCIS including the NIW petition letter, all evidence, and the filing fee. You are the petitioner — no employer involvement required.

Monitor the monthly Visa Bulletin for your EB-2 priority date. India and China-born applicants face significant backlogs. For others, the date is often current.
When your priority date is current, file I-485 (if in the US) or complete DS-260 for consular processing. Concurrently file for EAD and Advance Parole if doing AOS.
