Must be nominated by an Australian state or territory government. Each state has its own eligibility criteria and application process.
Must have net personal and business assets of at least AUD 800,000 that can be transferred to Australia within 2 years of visa grant.
Must have had an annual business turnover of at least AUD 500,000 in at least 2 of the 4 fiscal years immediately before invitation.
Must have owned at least 51% of a business (or 30% of a business with AUD 400,000+ annual turnover) for at least 2 of the past 4 fiscal years.
Must be under 55 years of age at the time of invitation to apply (unless state can waive for exceptional economic benefit).
Must demonstrate at least Vocational English (IELTS 4.5 in each band, or equivalent). Higher English scores earn additional points.
Must score at least 65 points in the Business Innovation and Investment points test.
Valid Passport
Current valid passport for all applicants.
State Nomination Letter
Official nomination letter from the relevant state or territory government.
Business Financial Statements
Audited financial statements for the business for at least 2 of the past 4 fiscal years showing turnover and assets.
Evidence of Net Assets
Bank statements, property valuations, share certificates and other evidence of net personal and business assets of at least AUD 800,000.
Business Ownership Evidence
Company registration documents, share certificates or partnership agreements confirming ownership percentage.
English Language Test Results
IELTS (minimum 4.5 each band for Vocational English), PTE or equivalent.
Australian Business Plan
Detailed business plan outlining intended business activities and investment in Australia.
Health Examination Results
HAP ID and completed health examination by an approved panel physician.
Police Clearance Certificates
Police clearances from all countries where you lived for 12+ months in the past 10 years.
