🇦🇺 Australia · ENS 186
5 mandatory requirements, 1 supporting factor, and 8 core documents — here is exactly what Australia expects.
Missing any of these disqualifies an application outright — confirm them before investing in fees or document preparation.
The nominating employer must be an approved standard business sponsor (or applying concurrently). They must genuinely need to fill the position.
The nominated occupation must be on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).
Must be under 45 at the time of application (exemptions exist for specific roles).
Must demonstrate at least Competent English in all four bands unless exempt (e.g. passport from designated English-speaking country or previous Australian study).
TRT stream: 2 years full-time with the nominating employer on a TSS visa. DE stream: 3 years relevant work experience and a positive skills assessment.
Not strictly required, but each strengthens your case — the weight shown reflects how heavily our scoring engine (and in practice, adjudicators) value it.
Direct Entry stream applicants must hold a positive skills assessment from the relevant Australian assessing authority.
