Apply to the relevant Australian assessing authority for your nominated ANZSCO occupation. A positive assessment is required before both the state nomination and the federal EOI.
Research each state's skills list and nomination requirements. Submit a nomination application directly through the relevant state or territory's online portal. Each state has different conditions, occupation lists and processing times.
Create or update your SkillSelect EOI. Indicate that you have a state nomination. The 5 bonus points will be reflected in your score. Enter all points factors accurately.
The Department issues ITAs to state-nominated candidates. Accept the ITA in your ImmiAccount within the response period.
Submit your formal visa application in ImmiAccount within 60 days of ITA. Include state nomination approval evidence. Pay the application fee.
Complete mandatory health examinations through an approved panel physician and obtain police clearances for all relevant countries.
Home Affairs assesses the application. Processing times vary. Monitor ImmiAccount and respond promptly to any requests for additional information.
