The BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) enables British Columbia to nominate skilled workers, international graduates, and entrepreneurs for Canadian permanent residence. A provincial nomination adds 600 points to a candidate's CRS score in Express Entry β virtually guaranteeing an ITA.
Streams Overview
BC PNP has two main pillars:
1. Skills Immigration (SI): For skilled workers and international graduates with a job offer from a BC employer. Sub-streams include: - Skilled Worker β NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 with a full-time, indeterminate job offer - Healthcare Professional β specifically for health-care roles - International Graduate β BC degree/diploma graduates with a local job offer - Entry Level and Semi-Skilled β limited occupations in tourism, hospitality, food processing, and long-haul trucking
2. Express Entry BC (EEBC): Mirrors the SI streams but candidates must have an active Express Entry profile. Nomination elevates CRS by 600 points.
BC Tech Pilot
The BC Tech Pilot fast-tracks workers in 29 eligible tech occupations. Applicants with a job offer in a designated tech NOC receive priority registration invitations based on a registration score.
Registration System
BC PNP uses a competitive registration system rather than a first-come, first-served queue. Candidates register interest and receive a score; IRCC issues invitations (EOIs) periodically. The registration score is based on wage, NOC skill level, regional district, and Express Entry profile status.
