The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) allows the Government of Ontario to nominate eligible candidates for Canadian permanent residence. A provincial nomination adds 600 points to a candidate's Express Entry CRS score β effectively guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply.
Main Streams
Employer Job Offer (EJO) Streams Ontario employers can support nominations for skilled foreign workers who have received a full-time, permanent job offer in select occupations. Three sub-streams exist: - Foreign Worker Stream β requires 2+ years of experience and a NOC TEER 0/1/2/3 job offer - International Student Stream β recent Ontario post-secondary graduates with a related job offer - In-Demand Skills Stream β selected construction and agricultural occupations
Express Entry-Aligned Streams Candidates with an active Express Entry profile may be considered under: - Human Capital Priorities Stream β general skilled workers in the EE pool - Skilled Trades Stream β Express Entry candidates in eligible trade occupations - French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream β French speakers with CLB 7+ in French
Notification of Interest (NOI) System For Express Entry-aligned streams, OINP sends a Notification of Interest (NOI) to eligible candidates in the EE pool based on CRS score ranges, NOC codes, and other criteria. Candidates receiving an NOI must respond within 45 days. Ontario does not have an open EOI registration β it proactively identifies candidates.
Provincial Application Once nominated, candidates apply to IRCC for permanent residence either through Express Entry (within 60 days of ITA) or through the paper-based provincial stream.
