Must invest at least $800,000 in a TEA or $1,050,000 elsewhere in a qualifying US commercial enterprise
Must demonstrate that the invested capital was obtained through lawful means — a critical and heavily scrutinized requirement
Investment must create or preserve at least 10 full-time positions for qualifying US workers
Not strictly required, but each strengthens your case — the weight shown reflects how heavily our scoring engine (and in practice, adjudicators) value it.
Funds must be placed at risk for commercial gain; guaranteed returns are not permitted
Valid Passport
Current passport with at least 6 months validity
Source of Funds Documentation
Comprehensive financial records tracing investment funds from original source to transfer: bank records, tax returns, business financials, sale agreements
Subscription or Investment Agreement
Signed subscription agreement or investment contract with Regional Center or direct enterprise
TEA Designation Letter
State-issued Targeted Employment Area designation letter (if investing at $800K level)
Business Plan (Direct Investment)
Comprehensive business plan demonstrating job creation projections (required for direct investments)
Economic Analysis Report (Regional Center)
Economist's report analyzing indirect and induced job creation (Regional Center investments)
Wire Transfer / Bank Transfer Records
Bank records confirming the transfer of investment funds to the enterprise
Personal Tax Returns (5 years)
Foreign and/or US tax returns for the past 5 years to support source of funds
