🇺🇸 United States · Family Preference
3 mandatory requirements, 1 supporting factor, and 8 core documents — here is exactly what United States expects.
Missing any of these disqualifies an application outright — confirm them before investing in fees or document preparation.
F1, F3, F4 petitions require a US citizen petitioner. F2A and F2B require a Lawful Permanent Resident petitioner.
Must be an unmarried adult child (F1/F2B), spouse/minor child of LPR (F2A), married child of USC (F3), or sibling of adult USC (F4)
The family relationship must be legally valid (valid marriage, legal parent-child relationship)
Not strictly required, but each strengthens your case — the weight shown reflects how heavily our scoring engine (and in practice, adjudicators) value it.
For F4: petitioner must be a US citizen age 21 or older. For F3: petitioner must be a US citizen.
