Missing any of these disqualifies an application outright — confirm them before investing in fees or document preparation.
Must have at least 1 year of paid, full-time (or equivalent part-time) work experience in Canada in a NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 occupation within the 3 years before applying.
Applicants in managerial (TEER 0) or professional (TEER 1) occupations must meet CLB 7 in all four language abilities.
Applicants in technical (TEER 2) or skilled trade (TEER 3) occupations must meet CLB 5 in all four language abilities.
Not strictly required, but each strengthens your case — the weight shown reflects how heavily our scoring engine (and in practice, adjudicators) value it.
Must currently be in Canada with valid immigration status (work permit, post-graduation work permit, etc.) when applying, or have recently left Canada temporarily.
Valid Passport
Passport for the principal applicant and all family members.
Language Test Results
Official IRCC-approved language test results (IELTS, CELPIP, TEF, or TCF) — less than 2 years old.
Canadian Employment Reference Letters
Letters on employer letterhead confirming Canadian job title, NOC duties, salary, and dates of employment.
Canadian Pay Stubs or T4 Slips
Recent pay stubs or CRA T4 slips as additional proof of Canadian employment.
Work Permit
Current or most recent Canadian work permit authorizing your employment.
Police Certificate
Police clearance from every country where you have lived for 6+ months since age 18.
Digital Photograph
Passport-style digital photo meeting IRCC specifications.
