Government processing times move with caseload. Check the official processing-time page for the current published estimate — our platform tracks these automatically.
Determine which AAIP stream you qualify for: Alberta Opportunity Stream (if working in Alberta on a valid work permit), Express Entry stream (if in the EE pool), Rural Renewal Stream (if have a rural job offer), or Self-Employed Farmer Stream.
Gather all required documents including job offer letter, language test results, work experience letters, and proof of Alberta residency. For the EE stream, ensure your Express Entry profile is current.
Submit your AAIP application through the Alberta Immigration Portal. For the EE stream, you may receive a Notification of Interest rather than applying proactively.
If approved, Alberta issues a nomination certificate. Apply to IRCC for permanent residence — via Express Entry (60-day window) or paper-based PNP application. Provide biometrics and medical exam.
