Alberta Opportunity Stream requires a valid Alberta job offer. The Express Entry stream selects candidates from the EE pool without a job offer.
For the Alberta Opportunity Stream, applicants must be currently living and working in Alberta under a valid work permit.
Language requirements depend on the stream and NOC occupation. Generally CLB 4-7 required, with higher thresholds for professional occupations.
The job offer or work experience must be in an eligible NOC occupation for the applicable stream. Some occupations are restricted.
Applicants must intend to live and work in Alberta after receiving permanent residence.
Valid Passport
Current passport for all applicants.
Alberta Job Offer Letter
Job offer letter from an Alberta employer (required for AOS and Rural Renewal streams).
Language Test Results
IELTS, CELPIP, TEF Canada, or TCF Canada results.
Employment Reference Letters
Letters confirming job title, duties, dates, and salary for relevant positions.
Proof of Alberta Residency
Utility bill, rental agreement, or other documents proving Alberta residence (AOS).
Education Credentials
Degrees, diplomas, and transcripts from post-secondary institutions.
Alberta Nomination Certificate
Certificate of nomination from AAIP required for IRCC permanent residence application.
